2015 GM-Free Shopping List

2015 GM-Free Shopping List

Launched on 17th October in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne, the list celebrates the growing number of companies labelling their products GM-Free.

"We have the right to know what's in our food. We thank the companies for labelling GM-free" said Jessica Harrison, Co-ordinator of the GM-Free Australia Alliance. "This allows us to make informed decisions when we shop.”

“Today’s shoppers are looking for GM-free alternatives to products which may contain unlabelled GM ingredients, due to our lax labelling laws”.

“There is no scientific consensus on the  safety of genetically manipulated (GM) food, and there is increasing evidence of harm”, said Ms Harrison.

“Our launch is part of Fair Food Week  celebrated throughout Australia from October 16th to 25th.

October is also “Non-GMO Month” in the USA. US shoppers, unhappy being participants in the GM experiment, are voting with their wallets, buying verified GM-free foods, and demanding GM labelling. http://www.nongmoproject.org/
