GM Cow Pea, developed in Australia, threatens food security
The African Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) has today released a new report titled, GM and seed industry eye Africa’s lucrative cowpea seed markets: The political economy of cowpea in Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Malawi.
The report argues that the GM cow pea push in Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Ghana coincides with strong interest from multinational and local seed companies to produce foundation and certified seed in West Africa.
